I’m Fernanda Soares, a Brazilian writer and ceramic artist based in Seattle, Washigton.

I'm embarking on a new chapter in my artistic journey with a series that blends forms and marks in my ceramics.

Using the slow, meditative process of hand building, my approach is to create unique pieces that embrace the beauty of imperfection. My biggest source of inspiration is my mom, her life and the marks she was carrying on her body, and I'm happy to eternalize her life into my art (she passed in December of 2022). Nature and my Brazilian culture are also part of my inspiration and are present in my ceramics work.
